Sustainability reporting

The transition to a more sustainable society is one of the greatest challenges of our time. A growing number of companies and organisations are assuming their responsibilities and are seeking to understand their impact on the environment and society. In doing so, they are contributing to positive change.  More specifically, they are aligning their strategies with broader societal goals, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

As part of this process, they are analysing their impact on environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects across the entire value chain. In addition, some organisations also study the risks and opportunities that global challenges represent for their financial structure. They involve their stakeholders and develop cooperation programmes. This provides an overview of the main material impacts and enables them to develop an appropriate strategy with concrete sustainability initiatives. Progress is monitored using specific indicators.

As the final step in this process, organisations publish a sustainability report, which provides insight into the measures taken and the progress made in terms of sustainability.
